Inspiring Women: love your body all over again
Our bodies are a canvas for life; they bear our scars and our stretch marks, reminding us of good times and of bad.
Often we meet clients whose bodies represent truly inspirational life stories; stories which have motivated them to bare all for the camera to be captured forever.
Whatever their reasons for bearing their scars to the world, we’ve done it in a way that works for them.
The Peachfur team is sympathetic to every client and to their personal needs and we’ll work within your comfort zone to create sensational portraits.
Karen Whyte is typical of an imspirational woman who, after undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer, decided she wanted a collection of boudoir portraits to help her regain her body confidence.
Karen recounts her story here:
“When I was battling breast cancer all I could think of was fighting to stay alive, but once my treatment had finished I was shocked at the person left looking back at me in my reflection.
As a young woman having had a double mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and a hysterectomy I had gained my life but lost my womanhood. I wanted to feel sexy again and coming to terms with the ‘new me’ was part of that.
Peachfur gave me the amazing opportunity to do exactly that. Having had a professional make over I was made to feel comfortable and was given plenty of direction to get into some timeless classic poses, all my intial nerves melted away as despite how I saw myself, I was made to feel a million dollars with every click of the camera.
It was a nervous wait to see the pictures, feeling the way I did about my body I was fully expecting to cringe, but instead I was amazed at the finished product, the poses that felt somehow awkward, I then ‘got it’ - Allen’s vision became apparent and with some expert airbrushing the finished pictures are to treasure.
I will be using these pictures to promote a positive way of looking at women who have had cancer surgery, we are still women and need to feel like having cancer has not striped us of our femininity.”
